About us

A welcoming community in the Canadian Arctic.

Iqaluit Masjid (Islamic Society of Nunavut) serves the Muslim community of Iqaluit and visitors travelling across the territory. Located above the 63rd parallel, we are one of the northernmost masjids in Canada.

Our mission

A space for prayer, learning, and community — for Muslims in Canada's far north.

The Islamic Society of Nunavut maintains Iqaluit Masjidin Iqaluit for daily prayers, Friday Jumu'ah, and community gatherings. Whether you live here year-round or you are passing through on work or travel, the masjid is open to you.

Our community is small but committed. Donations and membership support the masjid's ongoing operations, construction, and programs for Muslim residents and visitors alike.

Our vision

  • Maintaining a welcoming masjid in Canada's far north for daily prayers, Jumu'ah, and community gathering.
  • Supporting Muslim residents of Iqaluit and visitors from across Nunavut and beyond.
